FAQs

  • Bordetella, Rabies, and Distemper vaccines must be up to date

Must not show any signs of aggression towards people or animals

We must be able to be handle by collar or leash

If your dog is experiencing any of the following symptoms please keep your dog home from daycare until they are feeling better; coughing, sneezing, lethargic, lose of appetite, loose stools, or any other unusual behavior for your dog.

  • At Sit and Stay Pet Resort, we like to create a very home-like atmosphere for your pet while they stay with us. We recommend that you bring your pet's bed, rug, bone and/or favorite toy. This will be an added sense of comfort for your dog (no irreplaceable items, please). Easily washable items that have been permanently labeled with your last name are best. Many people like to "prebag" their own food. You may do that, if you wish, at no additional charge or discount.

    Some Benefits of Prebagged food:

Your pet is guaranteed to be fed the exact amount of food and treats as fed at home!

It takes the guesswork out of packing enough food for the whole stay!

Adding treats to the meal? They won't get too many or too few!

    Some Tips:

Using Zip-loc bags avoids spills and keeps the food fresh!

Providing an extra meal or two is great in case of the unexpected need to stay an extra night.

There's no need to label the bags...unless the morning and evening meals are different!

  • Our playgroup hours are 8AM – 5PM. After 5PM, the dogs retire to an individual kennel until their departure.

  • Yes, typically if you let us know in the morning at drop-off we can add your dog to the bath list for that day, however, spacing is limited and we highly recommend you make a reservation. Ask us how to get free daycare at drop off by getting a bath and 2 of our many services.

Haircut appointments will need to be made in advance as the schedule fills up quickly.

  • Like children at a playground, it is possible for dogs to sustain very minor injuries while at a dog daycare facility. During normal play, a dog may get small scrapes and scratches that typically heal on their own and don’t require a trip to the vet. Even after a dog is accepted to daycare, we may ask a dog to leave if they have behavioral problems arise in the future.

  • No, there is no additional charge for these services.

  • No, but we keep the right to refuse dogs that seem unfit for our daycare or boarding facility. We’re confident in the experience and ability of our staff to recognize potentially problematic behaviors in a dog regardless of the breed.

  • Daycare is not for every dog. Older dogs may have trouble adjusting to the commotion caused by a sizeable group of dogs romping and playing in a large area; shy dogs may be overwhelmed by the crowd; and aggressive dogs have no place in a group setting. The staff at Sit and Stay Pet Resort is experienced in recognizing the signs of discomfort and temperament that may indicate your pet is not right for the daycare setting.
